CHFG St. George – Flexible, Fearless, and Freakishly Light

The CHFG St. George glove is the most minimalist and mobility-focused model in the Archangel lineup — designed for fencers who trust their blade control, not their armor.

Weighing almost nothing but still giving basic impact protection, it hugs the hand tightly and moves like a second skin. If you’re using a rapier with a complex hilt, a sabre with a bell guard, or a buckler and sword combo, this glove feels invisible until it saves your skin.

Want to grapple, disarm, palm coins, or just feel your guard shift in micro-angles? This is your glove.

But use it with a longsword or some calvary sword, and your fingers and palm may write poems about pain. We warned you.

🔍 Key Features

  • Maximum Flexibility:
Feels more like a fencing glove than a gauntlet. Ideal for fine wristwork and tight grip changes.

  • Ultra-Lightweight Construction:
You’ll forget it’s there — until it absorbs a misjudged parry.

  • Finger-Focused Protection:
Offers moderate protection for the fingers, but very minimal for the palm. Best used with weapons that come with proper hand guards.

  • Works Best With:

    • Saber with bell guard/D guard

    • Rapier with swept hilt / cup hilt / complex hilts

    • Buckler hand

    • Sail dagger

  • Use Cautiously With:

    • Polish sabers, shamshirs, or longswords with minimal hand protection

    • These gloves offer little palm coverage — use only if you rely on proper guard, not your glove

  • Sold Left, Right, or Pair:
Need only one for your offhand? No problem. Full pairs come with a slight discount.

  • Great Value:
Light on weight and cost — but definitely not for reckless brawling.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • St. George gloves offer excellent mobility and finger protection, but very little coverage for the palm.

  • Best paired with weapons that have full guards, such as saber (bell guard) or rapier (swept/cup hilts).

  • Do not expect much from these gloves if you’re using crossguard-only weapons — unless your fingers enjoy the thrill of danger.

  • Sword and buckler, saber, rapier, and similar one-handed styles are ideal.

  • Longsword? Sure, if you have iron technique and a high pain tolerance.

⚠️ Disclaimer

St. George gloves are designed for historical fencing and light to moderate sparring.
They are not certified industrial PPE. Use with appropriate guard-equipped weapons and common sense.
